Lights at Temple Square

John and I went down to Salt Lake to visit his family last week. I soon found out, supposedly, if you're from Salt Lake, you really don't go see the lights at Temple Square. Weird. I know. So, Seth and I made the Fraidenburg siblings go! (he he.) Out of love, they did go for our amusement. The lights were gorgeous. And I did find smiles from the Salt Lake residents. It's always worth going. Here were some of the pictures I took in the bitter cold...

Grandma ArVella

(my parents and I with Grandma at Liberty, Id Cemetery)
My grandma, ArVella Watts Poulsen, passed away November 24, 2008, at 88 years old. I miss Grandma, especially right around the holidays, but it really was such a blessing that it was her time to go. I know she is in a better place and is happy with Grandpa. I am so greatful for eternal families and for the fact that I will see her again. Here are some of the things I will remember about Grandma...
  • Her testimony in the gospel and her unfailing faith.
  • She really was the best cook in the world.
  • You never left her house hungry. Even if you were full before, you didn't leave Grandma's without letting her stuff you with something else.
  • Her laugh and smile.
  • Her beautiful flowers. She would have me bring hair to her from the salon so she could sprinkle it around her flowers. This way, the deer wouldn't eat them. She swore that it worked... :)
  • She never ever never never ever complained! Never. Ever.
  • Her stories.
  • She always made you feel good. All problems went away when Grandma was around.
  • She loved her family! All 100 of us. (Grandpa, 5 children, 26 grand children, 67 great grand children, and 1 great great grand child) And that's not counting our spouses. She considered them her own as well (visa-versa). And we ALL loved her.

Cookie Lee Party

My mom and I are having a Cookie Lee Party. And I am sorry for the late notice, but the party is Tonight, Dec. 16, from 6-8 pm (open house). Anyone who wants to come, are more than welcome to. The party is held at my mom's in Smithfield. If you don't know where that is, feel free to give me a call, or leave a comment, or e-mail me, whatever. Hope to see you there! Oh, this is a great Christmas gift idea!
